Relax and cherish the peace and tranquillity inside the Chapel. Learn about the history of Chadkirk and the legends which link it with the 7th-century missionary, St. Chad. Or take a walk through delightful woodlands and along the scenic Peak Forest Canal, before enjoying refreshments in the Chapel.

How to get there Top

The estate is situated in the north eastern side of Stockport to the south of the village of Romiley, a short distance from the M60 junction 25.

The site is easily accessible from the local communities of Romiley, Bredbury, Marple and Offerton, and there are good local transport links, although these do not take you directly to the Chapel.

There are regular bus services between Stockport, Marple and Romiley, as well as a train service to Marple and Romiley stations.

From Romiley the estate can be reached by a short ½ mile walk along Chadkirk Road.

Visitors travelling by car can park in the car park at the opposite end of the estate (½ mile from the Chapel), which is accessed off Vale Road.

  • Car park located at beginning of Vale Road (disabled parking at the Chapel only)
  • Available from 8.30am till dusk when the barrier will be locked.
  • Locking times vary according to the time of year.
  • The car park will remain open during events.

  • Limited disabled parking (two bays) available near the Chapel (outside Chadkirk Farm).
